Our Mission
The JDCHS Instrumental Music Department seeks to provide a culture of high caliber musicianship and to promote in its students an attitude of hard work, integrity, unity, and creativity through sound leadership, expression, performance, and competition.
Musicianship
The instrumental music ensembles and soloists at JDCHS have been recognized for their high level of musicianship across the country. Their directors are professionally acclaimed performers in their respective fields, and have a reputation of holding the Juan Diego Students to a high standard of excellence.

Hard Work
We believe that few activities teach life skills the way music education does. JD Music students make every effort possible to bring a meaningful experience to their audience with every performance.
Integrity
Juan Diego students are committed to the Catholic values that make active Christians and quality ensembles. These values are a core part of everything we do.

Unity
The ensembles at JDCHS know that every member of the community is valuable and important. We are only as strong as we are united.
Ceativity
At JD we are commited to unique and creative performances, from the concert hall to the football field. In every concert, recital, and competition we strive for the perfect blend of artistry and entertainment.

Leadership
Student leadership is a vital part of the music program at JDCHS and the secret to its success. Every member of the ensemble knows and is committed to his individual responsibility and the overall success of the group.
Expression
Music is our vehicle for expressing the inner, felt life. It is a means of sharing our joy and values with our audiences and our community.

Performance
The performing ensembles at JDCHS average over one hundred public performances each year. Every performance is unique and carefully produced to both entertain and to educate.
Competition
JDCHS music ensembles participate in the UHSAA sponsored festivals and competitions and have a long history of awards and recognitions. We believe that healthy competition can be a valuable part of the student's growth and development.
